学習目標

　Oscar Wildeの劇The Importance of Being Earnestを読んだ上で、文化的背景を知り、文学作品を深く理解し鑑賞する方法を学ぶ。

授業概要

　作品の内容についてのdiscussionを中心に授業を進める。Plotの展開を正しく理解するだけではなく、作品の背後にあるイギリスの風習や文化的特質を具体的に把握する。その上で、Victoria時代の価値観の変遷についての理解を深める。各幕読了後に映像の鑑賞を行う。

受講生への要望

　作品をきちんと読み予習してくることが前提となる。Discussionにも積極的に参加して欲しい。

評価方法

　出席、予習、授業への参加、期末の試験を総合して評価。
