By the end of the course, students should 1)understand the concept of communicative competence, 2) understand the role of learners in second language learning, 3) understand their own characteristics as a learner of English, 4) be able to identify some characteristics of good language learners, and 5) set goals for their future study of English.
授業概要
This course develops students understanding of goals in second language learning and how learners can reach these goals. Students will learn about different characteristics that can affect language learning, analyze what kind of language learner they are themselves, and conduct interviews with good language learners. Students will present their findings in a final group presentation and written report.
