授業概要 |
This course is designed to give English majors a strong foundation in reading by developing students' ability to understand different types of readings in English. Students will acquire abilities to read different materials and to use different reading strategies, such as identifying the main idea and topic sentence, making an outline of the text, and writing a summary of the text. Students will practice reading, using different materials in the textbook; personal essays, academic essays, newspaper articles, and others. Students will also learn to read some literary texts; picture books, children's literature, and short stories. They are expected to read various texts in-depth and form their own ideas and opinions about what they read. |
