American fiction in the nineteenth century became more and more complex in narrative methods. We will read Hawthorne, Poe and James to follow the growth of the American imagination reflected in the narratology of their fiction.
授業概要
Lectures will be given to analyze closely each text. Class discussions will follow. A reading test will be given at the start of studying each work to check on how well you have read it. The final exam will be an essay exam on one question.
