Acquiring the ability to make connections between seemingly unrelated topics. Acquiring a critical awareness of Shakespeare's works and their relevance to pedagogy. Acquiring the tools to analyze texts and performances. Acquiring translation skills.
授業概要
Shakespeare's works are not generally discussed in relation to the concept of the child/childhood or children's literature. Nevertheless, children/childhoods are featured memorably in the plays, boy actors have played female roles, and the works have been used for pedagogical purposes in various cultures. This course explores hitherto uncharted territory by attending to key issues in Shakespeare, child studies and translation.
