By the end of the course, learners should be able to 1.explain characteristics of learner language, 2. explain the characteristics of communicative and more traditional language classrooms, 3. understand the results of classroom research investigating teaching methods, 4. carry out a simple research project involving data collection and analysis.

This course introduces students to the basic theories about second language learning and classroom research, and provides guidance in carrying out a simple research project based on data collection.
