| 授業概要 |
| This course analyzes some classic English and American picture books from aesthetic, moral and psychological perspectives. How does early reading convey moral lessons and implant prejudices? In the first semester we will examine books dealing with themes of bedtime and loss. How differently are girls and boys depicted in their dealings with bedtime? How could deaths of pets, gradparents, and the increasingly important issue of war and death be a theme for picture books? The importance of reading aloud as a relational activity will be stressed. |
