学習目標 |
The goal of this course is for students to build on their current oral English skills and develop a greater mastery of the skills used in speaking English both in everyday situations and more formal presentations. |
授業概要 |
One part of the course will focus on fluency--developing smoother speaking ability through a variety of common topics. Another part of the course will focus on speaking in more formal situations--giving presentations to other groups or before the class. We will also spend time building vocabulary with idioms, proverbs and common, informal English phrases. Students will be expected to participate actively in pairs, small groups, before the class, and with the teacher. |
テキスト |
Course textbook information will be given on the first day of class. |
参考文献・課題図書 |
A good dictionary, with an "English-English" function is recommended. |
受講生への要望 |
The class size will be limited to 24. If more than 24 students apply for the course, a priority system will be used to select students. The first priority students will be those now in the teacher's certificate program. Second priority will be senior (4th year) students, third-juniors and fourth-sophomore students. |
評価方法 |
Evaluation will be based on active class participation, an exam at the end of each semester, and three class projects. |
