The aim of this course is to analyze the novel, Pobby and Dingan written by Ben Rice. We will also contrast the novel with the film version, Opal Dream.
授業概要
This course is an introduction to film and prose. The work we will focus on is Ben Rice's Pobby and Dingan (2000). Kellyanne is the daughter of a miner. She lives in Lightning Ridge, the opal capital of Australia. She has imaginary friends, Pobby and Dingan; only Kellyanne can see them. We will read the novel, watch the film, and discuss how various themes are interrelated. Poetry will also be introduced.
