学習目標
This course is designed for Juniors who are interested in communicative aspects of language, its relation to society, and language in the media.
授業概要
Students will be introduced to ways of analyzing discourse of different types, through which they understand social issues as well as culture-specific uses of language in diverse contexts. For each topic discussed in class, students are expected to find their own data, analyze them critically, and present the findings in class.

A reading packet of selected articles will be given on the first day of class.
