A computer skills class in English to ensure that students are able to find reliable information in English and use it for oral and written communication. Students choose a topic, use the internet to research that topic in English, write a speech on the topic, and use PowerPoint to make a computer presentation in English in front of the class.

Attendance will be very important to assure that the student gets sufficient time on the computer. If students are frequently absent or late, it will be very difficult to pass.

Attendance. Individual assignments demonstrating correct use of software. Research projects. Final report.
授業計画
１． International Studies students must be able to ２． use the Internet in English in order to access ３． websites around the world and improve their ４． ability to think globally. Students will choose a topic related to International Studies, research it ５． in English on the Internet, summarize their research in a speech, and present their research using PowerPoint ６． the following areas: ７． (1) finding information related to International Studies topics in English on the Web. ８． (2) judging the reliability of websites for academic purposes ９． (3) awareness of copyright and what constitutes plagiarism 10． (4) correctly formatting pages for academic writing or publication in English 11． (5) organization of a written report or speech in English 12． (6) correct citing of online references used in a report 13． (7) basics of graphic layout for PowerPoint slides 14． (8) public speaking: presence, body language, 15． voice, eye contact, pronunciation, speed of speaking, etc.
