This project-oriented Computer Literacy course focuses on efficient use of the internet, word processing, and PowerPoint presentations in order to train students in the three essential skills required of all English majors, i. e., research, drafting academic papers, and oral presentations. Students are asked to do everything in English.

Most important will be regular attendance to assure that the student gets sufficient time on the computer. If students are frequently absent or late, it will be difficult to pass.
授業計画
Students will learn efficient use of various search engines for research, how to judge the reliability of online references, organization of a brief research paper for presentation, and how to cite online references according to MLA format. During the semester, students will choose a topic, research it on the Internet, make an outline, and prepare an oral presentation in English using computer - prepared graphic material. Students will learn Microsoft PowerPoint software to develop graphic animated slides to use in their presentations in front of the class.
