The twentieth-century American literature opens with modernist attempts to revitalize expression. We will read works by modernist writers in the first half of the twentieth century and seek how they express a new kind of imagination.
課題・評価
Lectures will be in English. A short test will be given on each reading assignment. Participation in discussions in class will be a part of the evaluation. The final exam will consist of one essay question to be written in paragraph writing form in English.
