We will study the relationship between social theory and the environment, seeking to construct a broader view of humanity's relationship with nature. An emphasis will be placed on the differences in ideologies of environmentalism from the perspectives of gender and culture. This seminar aims to familiarize students with past and present environmental thought in a global context.
