This course aims at preparing the Juniors who will be writing thesis on themes from English Linguistics. The classes consist of the readings mainly from the fields of Contrastive Linguistics. The Ianguage to be used in class, English or Japanese, depends upon the students.

Oral presentation at approximately every other class and 2 typed papers per semester.

References will be introduced during the course of the year.

Students are expected to read the specified texts before class and participate in class discussions.
