The course is designed for students working on their middle school teaching certificate and/or for those interested in teaching English to elementary school students. It takes a hands-on approach in acquiring skill in managing classes in English. Points of focus are: pronunciation, reading aloud, paraphrasing and phonics.

授業計画
The course will consist on the following elements: 1. What you need to do to become a good English teacher in Japan. 2. Introduction to phonics methods 3. Vocabulary building methods 4. Pronunciation exercise 5. Gestures and reaction exercise 6. Paraphrasing exercise 7. Reading aloud
Students are asked to read a children's book aloud as a teaching material in place of a final exam to show their understanding and skills acquired from the classes.
