This seminar will further focus on reading poetry in depth and on critical thinking and writing. In the second semester, we will mainly read Romantic poetry and discuss the ideas of Romanticism, which could be grasped as the origin of Whitman's works.

Romantic solitude, suffering, and endurance 4. Man and nature 5. Romantic lyric and song 6. Protest and politics 7. On poetry and poets 8. After completing the thesis outline and the first draft in the first semester, senior students will also focus on revising the thesis after the consultation with the mentor.
