This course is centered on the close reading and analysis of Virginia Woolf's Mrs Dalloway (1925). The novel is known for its Modernist "stream-of-consciousness" writing technique which enables the reader to gain insight into the inner lives of different characters. We will first discuss the significance of Virginia Woolf as a Modernist writer and then deal with related aesthetic and cultural topics to explore some underlying themes of the novel.
