授業概要

　英語学のー領域で、単語の形式や構造を取り扱う形態論（Morphology）について、その基礎知識や研究の方法論を学ぶ。

課題・評価

　学期末試験の結果と平常点（出席状況、授業態度など）に基づき総合的に評価する。

テキスト

　Andrew Carstairs-McCarthy (2002), An Introduction to English Morphology, Edinburgh University Press.

参考文献

　授業中に適宜、指示する。

受講生への要望

　十分な予習と授業中の積極的な発言を望む。

授業計画

　テキストに沿って、講義と演習をまじえながら進める。取り上げる章は下記の通りで、各章を２～３週で読み終わるペースで進めていく。
　
1. Introduction
2. Words, Sentences and dictionary
3. A word and its parts: roots, affixes and their
shapes
5. A word and its relatives: derivation
6. Compound words, blends and phrasal words
7. A word and its structure

　余裕があれば、これ以外の章にも目を通す。
